Ajmer Hotel Fire: Four Dead, Five Rescued

Hotel Naz in Ajmer's Diggi Bazaar Catches Fire; Five Rescued, Four Dead

Fire in Ajmer: A devastating fire broke out at Hotel Naz in the Diggi Bazaar area of Ajmer, Rajasthan, on Thursday morning. The fire resulted in the death of four people – two men, one woman, and a child – due to suffocation and burns. The incident caused widespread panic in the area.

People Jump from Windows to Escape

Many guests in the hotel at the time jumped from windows to save their lives. Eyewitnesses reported hearing an explosion-like sound followed by chaos. Some escaped on their own, while others were rescued by the fire department.

Eyewitness Account: "A Woman Threw Her Child into My Arms"

Mangila Kalosia, a hotel guest, recounted, “A woman threw her child into my arms from the window. She tried to jump as well, but we stopped her.” Another individual sustained serious head injuries after jumping from a window.

Fire Department and Police Arrived, but…

Fire trucks, ambulances, and police arrived on the scene upon receiving reports of the fire. However, the narrow lanes leading to the hotel significantly hampered rescue efforts. Additional SP Himanshu Jangid stated that accessing the hotel was difficult, delaying the rescue operation.

Short Circuit Cited as Cause of Fire

Preliminary investigations suggest a short circuit as the cause of the fire. Dr. Anil Samaria, Principal of JLN Medical College, confirmed that four deaths resulted from suffocation and burns. Five people, including a child, were rescued and hospitalized.
