India Launches Retaliatory Strikes on Nine Pakistani Cities

India launched missile and drone strikes on nine Pakistani cities, including Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, and Sialkot. The action caused widespread panic in Pakistan, prompting Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to convene an emergency meeting. Pakistan responded with shelling along the Line of Control (LOC).

Attacked: Rising tensions between India and Pakistan have once again brought the entire South Asian region to the brink of war. In response to unsuccessful drone and missile attacks by Pakistan on border areas of Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab on Wednesday and Thursday night, India launched a major military operation.

The Indian army carried out drone and missile strikes on nine major Pakistani cities, including Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Sialkot, and Bahawalpur. These strikes notably included the destruction of a Chinese-made HQ-9 air defense system in Lahore using Harop drones procured from Israel. India conducted this operation while remaining within its own borders.

Emergency Meeting Called by Pakistani Prime Minister

India's attacks have created chaos in Pakistan. Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif immediately convened a high-level emergency security meeting. Meanwhile, Pakistani army spokesperson Lieutenant General Ahmad Sharif Chaudhry told the media that India launched 12 drone attacks, some of which were neutralized by their systems, but that an attack did occur on the air defense system in Lahore.

Indian Defense Systems Thwart Pakistani Attempts

Pakistan attempted to target several Indian military installations, including cities such as Awantipora, Srinagar, Jammu, Pathankot, Amritsar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Adampur, Bhatinda, Chandigarh, Nal, Falaudi, Uttarlai, and Bhuj. India successfully thwarted all these attacks using its integrated counter-UAS grid and air defense systems.

Pakistani Reaction Following Operation Sindur

This retaliatory action is reportedly part of 'Operation Sindur' being conducted by the Indian army. Following this operation, explosions were reported late at night in Jammu city, which were successfully neutralized by India's S-400 and Akash air defense systems. Sirens blared throughout the night in Jammu, and projectiles were seen streaking across the sky.
