Punjab's Education Minister has instructed colleges and universities not to force any students to leave the campus. Prioritizing student safety, institutions have been asked to ensure arrangements for accommodation, food, and care. No academic penalty should be imposed on students who voluntarily choose to return home. Alternative dates or arrangements should be made for those appearing for examinations.

Blackout Instructions in Fazilka and Muktsar

As a security measure in border districts, the administration in Fazilka has ordered the closure of all markets and instructed people to stay indoors. In Sri Muktsar Sahib, a blackout has been ordered from 8 PM onwards to prevent any potential threats.

Early Morning Blast in Gurdaspur

A large explosion occurred around 5 AM on Saturday in Chhichhra village, Gurdaspur district, creating a 40-foot-long and 15-foot-deep crater in a field. The blast was heard 3-4 kilometers away, shattering windows in nearby houses. A climate of fear prevails in the village. Villagers report hearing four blasts the previous night.

Advisory for the Public

The Punjab government has issued an advisory to citizens across all districts urging them to stay indoors. They have been advised to avoid crowds, stay away from tall buildings, remain calm, and not believe in rumors. Medical stores will remain open, but other shops will be closed. The administration has appealed for calm and vigilance from everyone.
