Rahul Gandhi Visits Haryana Congress, Aims to Unite Party Ahead of Elections

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi visited the Haryana Congress Committee office today, where he received a warm welcome from former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda. This visit is considered crucial for strengthening the party and fostering unity within the state.

Chandigarh: Senior party leader and MP Rahul Gandhi arrived at the Haryana Congress Committee office in Chandigarh today to address the long-standing internal strife and factionalism within the Haryana Congress. This visit is significant because of the recent open disagreements between the Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Kumari Selja camps. To strengthen the party and prepare for the Assembly elections, Rahul Gandhi has personally taken charge.

Bhupinder Singh Hooda Extends Welcome

Former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda warmly welcomed Rahul Gandhi upon his arrival at the Congress office. Rahul Gandhi's visit is seen not merely as a formal meeting, but as the beginning of an effort to reinvigorate the Haryana Congress. The main objective of his visit is to end the ongoing factionalism and strengthen the organization.

Therefore, at the beginning of the meeting, he clearly conveyed to the leaders that if the party wants to win the 2024 Assembly elections, everyone must work together. He emphasized that prioritizing the strengthening of the organization above personal ambitions should be paramount.

Meeting Held in Two Phases

Rahul Gandhi's meeting was held in two phases. The first phase involved discussions with 17 senior leaders, including Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Randeep Singh Surjewala, Kumari Selja, Chaudhary Virender Singh, and state in-charge BK Hari Prasad. In this meeting, Rahul Gandhi sought the opinions of the leaders and emphasized the need to move beyond deliberations and focus on ground-level work.

The organizational structure of the Haryana Congress has been incomplete for a long time. During this visit, Rahul Gandhi is working on finalizing this restructuring process. He clarified that the decision on which central observer and state-level observer will be sent to which district will be made based on communication and local needs.

A total of 21 central observers and 77 state-level observers have been appointed in the state, including eight co-observers. It has been decided that three state-level observers will be deployed with each central observer, who will go to the districts and establish the organizational structure.

Discussions on Observer Deployments on Tuesday

Prior to Rahul Gandhi's meeting, on Tuesday, discussions were held between the Haryana state president and in-charge BK Hari Prasad regarding the deployment of observers in various districts. These proposals are being finalized in today's meeting. Rahul Gandhi himself is overseeing this process to ensure transparency and impartiality in the organizational work.

Addressing the leaders, Rahul Gandhi unequivocally stated that for the party to win, leaders must overcome their differences and unite on a single platform. He emphasized that the fight is not against any one faction or individual, but against the ideology that is dividing the country. Everyone must come together to strengthen the Congress in Haryana.
