Tufail Arrested in Varanasi; Sharing Sensitive Information After Falling Prey to Pakistani Honey Trap. ATS Investigation Reveals Major Connections to 800 Pakistani Numbers.
UP: A major revelation concerning national security has emerged. Interrogation of Tufail, an ISI agent apprehended in Varanasi by the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS), has unearthed shocking details. Tufail identified himself as a soldier fighting for "Gazwa-e-Hind" and confessed to being ensnared in a honey trap orchestrated by Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). This case not only serves as a wake-up call for security agencies but also raises serious concerns about national security.
Tufail Entangled in 'Nafisa's' Web
Following Tufail's arrest, his Pakistani connections began to unravel. He was reportedly in contact with a woman named 'Nafisa' residing in Faisalabad, Pakistan. Nafisa, working for the ISI, had ensnared Tufail in her web of deceit. She never revealed her true identity to Tufail but repeatedly requested photographs of his surroundings, stating, "My day isn't complete without seeing your photos."
Furthermore, at Nafisa's behest, Tufail kept his phone's GPS location enabled, ensuring that precise location information accompanied every photograph sent to Pakistan. He transmitted photos and videos of Varanasi, Delhi, and several other sensitive locations across India to Nafisa.
Tufail's Descent into Extremism
Tufail's story doesn't end there. Five years ago, during a religious gathering, he met Maulana Shah Rizvi, associated with the Pakistani extremist organization Tehreek-e-Labbaik. Subsequently, Tufail participated in religious events across Uttar Pradesh's Kannauj, Hyderabad, and Punjab, gradually gravitating towards extremism.
Investigations revealed that Tufail administered 19 WhatsApp groups, mostly comprising members from Varanasi and Azamgarh. In these groups, he shared videos promoting hatred against India and glorifying the Babri Masjid demolition. He actively attempted to indoctrinate young people with the ideology of "Gazwa-e-Hind." His mobile phone contained contact information for over 800 Pakistani numbers. The ATS has recovered and is analyzing numerous deleted chats.
Harun's Revelation: Funds Reaching the Pakistani High Commission
The case also involves Harun, arrested in Delhi. Harun created fraudulent bank accounts for Muzammil Hussain, an official at the Pakistani High Commission. Muzammil used these accounts to solicit money under the guise of visa processing, funneling the funds to various individuals through Harun. Investigators suspect these funds were used to finance the ISI network in India.
The ATS is meticulously examining Harun's mobile data, bank transactions, and records from the past three years. They suspect these funds were utilized to strengthen the espionage network within India.
Significant Threat to National Security
This entire case serves as a major warning for India's security agencies. Individuals like Tufail are attempting to compromise national security through social media and honey traps. Pakistan's ISI is exploiting Indian youth through honey traps to achieve its objectives. Indian citizens, particularly young people, must remain vigilant. Exercise caution when interacting with strangers on social media. Think twice before responding to suspicious links, calls, or messages, as a single mistake could jeopardize national security.
