Jaipur: The largest government hospital in Rajasthan's capital, Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Hospital, has once again displayed a shameful face of negligence. A postpartum woman was administered the wrong blood type, resulting in her agonizing death. Adding to the shock, her medical file has mysteriously disappeared.

Negligence in Hospital Proves Fatal

The postpartum woman required a blood transfusion after delivery. According to her family, doctors assured them that blood had been arranged and would be administered soon. However, within hours, the woman's condition deteriorated. When questioned, the hospital administration claimed her condition was already critical. Investigations revealed that the blood transfused did not match her blood group. This caused a severe reaction in her body, leading to a continuous decline in her health. Eventually, after 11 days of hospitalization, she passed away.

After the incident, when the deceased's medical file was requested, the hospital had no record. Despite follow-up by the family and media, the hospital administration evaded responsibility by claiming, "The file cannot be found." This has raised b suspicions that an attempt is being made to suppress the entire matter.
