This is not science fiction, but an ambitious and innovative idea from Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari. To improve Dehradun's deteriorating traffic situation, Gadkari has proposed an 'Air Bus System,' which could revolutionize urban transportation in the future.
What is the Air Bus System?
The Air Bus System is a concept entirely different from conventional bus services. It will be an aerial transit network where buses will run on cables or aerial tracks. These buses will be elevated above the ground, supported by specialized tracks or poles. This technology could also be implemented in a double-decker mode, allowing for higher passenger capacity.

Why is this system necessary for Dehradun?

He believes the Air Bus System will not only solve traffic problems but also make India globally competitive in transportation technology.
He has requested the Uttarakhand government to prepare a detailed report on this project and assured that the central government will promptly approve and support the proposal upon its submission.
