Following the Pahalgam Terrorist Attack, Punjab is on High Alert. CM Bhagwant Mann reviewed the situation in a security meeting and directed the strengthening of security arrangements across the state.

Following the Punjab: Pahalgam Terror Attack, a climate of concern prevails across the nation. In response, the Punjab government has placed the state on high alert. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann convened a high-level security meeting on Wednesday to assess the state's security situation. Following the meeting, the Chief Minister stated, “I want to assure the people of Punjab that the state is completely safe. Terrorism has no religion, and we will not tolerate it under any circumstances.”

Punjab Residents Stranded in Jammu and Kashmir to be Brought Back Safely

The CM informed that efforts are underway to safely bring back Punjab tourists and students stranded in Jammu and Kashmir. The government is in constant contact with Jammu and Kashmir authorities and student organizations to ensure no one faces difficulties.

Punjab Police on High Alert, DGP Issues Strict Instructions

Punjab's Director General of Police (DGP), Gaurav Yadav, stated that security has been heightened at sensitive locations across the state, including inter-state borders, religious sites, bus stands, railway stations, and educational institutions. Police deployment has also been increased at institutions with a significant student population from Jammu and Kashmir.

Intensified Surveillance and Coordination with Intelligence Agencies

The DGP informed that Punjab Police has intensified intelligence surveillance and coordination with border security agencies. "We are sharing real-time intelligence and maintaining a close watch on any suspicious activity," he stated.

Punjab's 553-kilometer-long international border with Pakistan presents a significant challenge. Recently, several ISI-backed terrorist modules have been busted. Attempts to smuggle weapons and drugs via drones are also continuously being reported.
