Salman Khan's Blackbuck Poaching Case: Rajasthan High Court Hearing Set for July 26th

The Jodhpur Kanakani blackbuck poaching case is once again in the headlines. The Rajasthan High Court heard the case today, involving appeals from the government, the Bishnoi community, and Salman Khan. Mahipal Bishnoi, advocate for the Bishnoi community, stated that the hearing took place before Justice Manoj Garg, and all appeals have been consolidated for arguments scheduled on July 26th.

It is noteworthy that in this case, Salman Khan was sentenced to five years imprisonment by the sessions court for poaching blackbucks. Meanwhile, actors Saif Ali Khan, Neelam, Tabu, Sonali Bendre, and Dushyant Singh were acquitted. The government subsequently failed to appeal within the stipulated timeframe. The High Court will now hear the case on July 26th.

Hearing Scheduled for July 26th

The Rajasthan High Court in Jodhpur heard the Kanakani blackbuck poaching case today. The court accepted the leave to appeal presented by the government. The court consolidated the government's appeal with other cases related to Salman Khan. The next hearing in this matter will be on July 26th.

In the blackbuck poaching case, Salman Khan received a five-year sentence, while other film industry figures, Saif Ali Khan, Neelam, Tabu, Sonali Bendre, and Dushyant Singh, were acquitted. Following this, the government filed a leave to appeal against the acquittal of these stars. Salman Khan's advocate, Hastimal Saraswat, had appealed to transfer the case from the lower court to the High Court, and he is currently out on bail.

Leave to appeal is a legal process used when the usual time limit for filing an appeal has expired. It requires obtaining special permission from the court to appeal against a judgment or order.
