IRCTC Reports Strong Q4 FY2025 Profits, Driven by Diverse Revenue Streams

Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) reported b profits in the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2025. Significantly, revenue increased substantially across all sectors, from bottled water sales to food and beverage services and ticket bookings.

Rail Neer Earnings

Sales of Rail Neer, the bottled water sold on trains for ₹15, contributed ₹96 crore to IRCTC's earnings in the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2025. Notably, this matches the earnings from the previous quarter (October to December). However, this represents a ₹13 crore increase compared to the ₹83 crore earned in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year.

Increased Catering Revenue

On-board catering services also significantly contributed to IRCTC's profits. The fourth-quarter figures show earnings of ₹529 crore from catering services. While slightly lower than the ₹555 crore earned in the third quarter, it is comparable to the ₹531 crore earned in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year.

Internet Ticketing Remains the Largest Revenue Source

Internet ticketing remained IRCTC's most profitable segment. The company earned ₹372 crore in profits from ticket bookings during the fourth quarter, exceeding the ₹354 crore earned in the third quarter. However, this figure is considerably lower than the ₹2342 crore profit from ticketing in the fourth quarter of the previous fiscal year.

Total Profit and Operations

IRCTC's total operational profit increased by 10%, reaching ₹1269 crore, compared to ₹1152 crore in the fourth quarter of the previous fiscal year. The company's net profit stood at ₹358 crore, a significant increase from ₹284 crore in the same period last year.
