Delhi Police on High Alert: Leave Cancelled Amidst Heightened India-Pakistan Tensions

Delhi Police cancels all personnel leave until Thursday night. Patrols intensified, additional forces deployed in sensitive areas. Security arrangements are under review.

New Delhi: In the wake of escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, significant security measures have been implemented in Delhi. Following an attempted attack on several Indian border areas by Pakistan using drones and missiles on Thursday night, Delhi Police has tightened security arrangements. This includes canceling leave for all Delhi Police personnel and strengthening security measures.

Delhi Police Leave Cancelled

Delhi Police officials have canceled leave for all police personnel until Thursday night. According to police sources, patrols have been intensified, and additional police forces will be deployed in all sensitive areas. Special Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners of Delhi Police are holding meetings to review security arrangements in their respective zones to handle any emergency situation.

Security Heightened at Important Locations

Given the heightened tension between India and Pakistan, security has been increased at vital locations in Delhi, including government buildings, courts, sewage treatment plants, water purification plants, and foreign embassies. Furthermore, vigilance has been increased at public places such as malls, railway stations, markets, parks, and metro stations to prevent any untoward incident.

Vehicle Checks at Delhi Entrances

Delhi Police has initiated checks of all vehicles entering the capital. Simultaneously, bomb disposal squads have intensified anti-terrorist checks. All vehicles approaching Delhi's borders are being stopped and checked to prevent any suspicious objects or activities.

Attempted Drone and Missile Attacks by Pakistan

Following attempted drone and missile attacks by Pakistan on Thursday night targeting Indian military bases, including Jammu, Pathankot, Srinagar, and Udhampur, Delhi Police has further intensified security measures. The Indian Army swiftly thwarted this attempt, which was seen as a response to the April 22 Pulwama terror attack.

Delhi Police Prepared for Any Eventuality

A police official stated that Delhi Police is fully prepared to handle any unforeseen situation. All DCPs (Deputy Commissioners of Police) are constantly monitoring the security situation in their respective zones and are actively working to maintain law and order.
