Haryana CM Orders Crackdown on Faridabad's Illegal Constructions

Chief Minister Orders SOP for Strict Action Against Illegal Constructions in Faridabad. Despite 80 approved maps out of 300 applications, over 500 illegal constructions have sprung up.

Haryana News: Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has planned strict action against illegal constructions in Faridabad. He has ordered the creation of an SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) to combat illegal constructions. Simultaneously, a nodal agency will be appointed to take stringent action against them.

The Problem of Illegal Constructions

According to data from the Municipal Corporation, over 500 illegal constructions have taken place in Faridabad in the last four months. Only 80 building plans were approved out of over 300 applications. The number of illegal constructions is increasing, particularly in older and newer areas. These constructions disregard regulations, such as building without approved plans or deviating from approved plans.

Order for SOP and Nodal Agency

The Chief Minister has directed the creation of a robust SOP to control illegal constructions. Furthermore, a nodal agency will be appointed to take action, aiming to prevent illegal constructions and promote balanced urban development.

Regulations Regarding Illegal Constructions

According to the Municipal Corporation, obtaining building plan approval is mandatory before commencing any construction. Any construction undertaken without approval or in violation of regulations is considered illegal. If a construction is approved, it must be completed within two years; otherwise, the enforcement team has the authority to demolish the structure.

Impact of the CM's Order

The Chief Minister's order is expected to lead to effective action against illegal constructions and curb such activities. Municipal Corporation officials have stated that zonal officers will now be responsible for taking action against illegal constructions, following the SOP.
