India Sends Delegations to 32 Countries to Counter Pakistan on Terrorism

India sends delegations to 32 countries to expose Pakistan on the global stage. Congress leaders Anand Sharma and Shashi Tharoor supported this move, showcasing national unity.

New Delhi – The Indian government has undertaken a significant diplomatic initiative to highlight terrorism and Pakistan's role on the global stage. The government has formed an all-party delegation that will visit various countries to bly advocate India's position. Notably, some senior Congress party leaders have openly praised the Modi government's decision.

Delegation to visit 32 countries

Under this strategy, the Indian government has formed seven separate delegations. These delegations include a total of 51 leaders from various parties and 85 senior diplomats. They plan to visit 32 countries to inform the world about Pakistan's involvement in terrorism.

Anand Sharma supports the government's decision

Senior Congress leader and former Union Minister Anand Sharma lauded the Modi government's initiative. He stated that this move reflects India's diplomatic strength against terrorism and will bring Pakistan's actions to light internationally. Sharma also emphasized the need for all political parties to unite when national security and interests are at stake.

Shashi Tharoor also expresses his support

Earlier, senior Congress leader and former Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor also appreciated the government's decision. He tweeted, "I feel honored to be invited by the Government of India to lead an all-party delegation to the capitals of five major countries to present our nation's perspective on recent events. When national interest is at stake and my services are required, I will not lag behind."

Tharoor's statement was widely appreciated across the country as it exemplified national unity and shared diplomatic efforts.

Congress suggested four names, then raised objections

The government had requested names of representatives from Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi. Congress suggested four names – Anand Sharma, Gaurav Gogoi, Dr. Syed Nasir Hussain, and Raja Brar.

However, when the final list was released by the government, Congress raised objections. The party argued that excluding some leaders was unacceptable. Despite this, several senior Congress leaders participated in the delegation, conveying a message of unity.

Some opposition leaders criticized the move, calling it a 'baraat'

While some Congress leaders praised the move, opposition leaders like Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut criticized the government's diplomatic mission, sarcastically referring to it as a 'baraat' (wedding procession). He questioned the message the leaders would convey abroad when there is a lack of unity within the country. However, pro-government and some opposition leaders view it as preparation for a diplomatic victory for India.
