India Braces for Heavy Rainfall as Western Disturbance Impacts North

With the arrival of the monsoon in many parts of the country, weather patterns are changing rapidly. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a new western disturbance may become active from today, impacting weather conditions in several states of North India.

Weather: The weather across the country has taken another turn. While the end of May brings relief from the scorching heat to Delhi-NCR and other parts of North India, Bihar, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and the northeastern states are experiencing spells of heavy rain and thunderstorms. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), pre-monsoon activities will intensify in several states in the coming days, with heavy rainfall expected in some areas.

Delhi-NCR to Receive Relief from Heat

Light to moderate rain with b winds is expected in the national capital Delhi and surrounding areas from May 30 to June 1. According to the IMD, a new western disturbance is becoming active, which will affect the weather in Northwest India, including Delhi-NCR. Rainfall is expected to lower temperatures, providing relief from the intense heat.

During this period, the maximum temperature may remain between 36 and 38 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is expected to drop to 24 to 26 degrees. Additionally, b winds with speeds of 30-40 km per hour may also occur in the region.

Uttar Pradesh: Cool Showers in Western Parts

The weather in Uttar Pradesh appears divided. While districts in western Uttar Pradesh, including Kasganj, Etawah, Mainpuri, Farrukhabad, Etawah, Badaun, Hardoi, Shahjahanpur, and Kannauj, are expected to receive rainfall, eastern Uttar Pradesh may experience a temperature increase of 2 to 4 degrees Celsius over the next two days. The IMD states that temperatures in western Uttar Pradesh will decrease, providing some relief from the heat. Some districts may experience showers accompanied by thunder and lightning.

Monsoon's Arrival in Bihar?

Even before the monsoon's official arrival, Bihar is bracing for heavy rainfall. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rain in 26 to 27 districts of the state over the next two days. Heavy rainfall is anticipated in districts like Darbhanga, Madhubani, Purnea, Katihar, Bhagalpur, Saharsa, and Muzaffarpur. While the official monsoon arrival is expected around June 15, pre-monsoon rain has already caused a drop in temperatures in several parts of the state.

Rajasthan to Experience Rainfall

The Meteorological Department has also issued a warning of heavy rain and b winds (40-50 km per hour) for several districts in Rajasthan, including Kota, Bikaner, Bharatpur, and Jaipur. Hail is also possible in some areas. Rajasthan, which had been experiencing scorching heat and heatwaves, is now expecting relief. The weather may cool down in the next two days.

Heavy Rainfall in Uttarakhand, MP, and Northeast

Heavy rainfall is expected in some areas of Uttarakhand on June 1. Eastern Madhya Pradesh may experience thunderstorms accompanied by b winds (50-60 km per hour). A warning of extremely heavy rainfall has been issued for the northeastern states of Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Assam, and Tripura. The administration has been alerted about the possibility of flood-like situations.

Light rain has been reported in Mumbai, Thane, and parts of Gujarat over the past 24 hours. Cloudy skies and light to moderate rain are expected in these areas in the coming days.
