Story of Ekadanta Sankashti Chaturthi
According to mythological stories, once Lord Parashurama went to Mount Kailash to meet Lord Shiva. At that time, Lord Ganesha was sitting there as the gatekeeper and stopped Parashurama from meeting Shiva. Ganesha's rule was that no one could go to Shiva without permission. Parashurama did not like this and became very angry. In anger, Parashurama broke one of Lord Ganesha's teeth with his axe.
Because of the breaking of one of Lord Ganesha's teeth, he came to be called 'Ekadanta'. This incident teaches us that even Gods perform their duties and respect rules. Ganesha showed restraint and fulfilled his responsibility, even though he was hurt. This teaches us that despite difficulties in life, we must continue to perform our duties.
This form of Ekadanta Lord Ganesha is considered a symbol of sacrifice and knowledge. His form conveys to devotees that there is no greater power than knowledge and wisdom. Also, any problem can be solved with restraint and patience. Therefore, remembering this story and worshipping Lord Ganesha on Sankashti Chaturthi is considered extremely auspicious.
Through this story, we should also understand that only by acting with restraint and a sense of duty in every difficult time can we overcome life's obstacles. The story of Ekadanta Ganesha is a source of inspiration for us, teaching us to always be restrained, wise, and patient in life.
