Parshu Rama Jayanti is one of the most important festivals in Hinduism, celebrated annually on the Tritiya Tithi of the Shukla Paksha in the Vaishakh month. This day commemorates the birth of Lord Parshu Ram, the sixth avatar of Lord Vishnu. Lord Parshu Ram is known for his penance, power, and destructive form. On this day, devotees strive to obtain Lord Parshu Ram's blessings through fasting, worship, and chanting of mantras.

This year, some confusion surrounds the date of Parshu Rama Jayanti, with questions arising whether it will be celebrated on April 29th or 30th. This article will detail the date, Muhurta (auspicious time), and Puja Vidhi (worship method) of Parshu Rama Jayanti to ensure accurate observance.

Parshu Rama Jayanti Date and Muhurta

Confusion often arises regarding the date of Parshu Rama Jayanti because it changes annually based on the Panchang (Hindu calendar). In 2025, Parshu Rama Jayanti will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 29th. However, the Tritiya Tithi will begin at 5:32 PM on this day and will extend into the Pradosh Kaal (first part of the night). Therefore, Parshu Rama Jayanti will be observed on April 29th this year.

According to scriptures, the Pradosh Kaal holds significance on Parshu Rama Jayanti. This is the first part of the night, considered the time of Lord Parshu Ram's birth. Scriptures state that if the Tritiya Tithi extends into Pradosh Kaal over two days, the second day also holds importance for worship. However, this year, the Tritiya Tithi will only extend into Pradosh Kaal on April 29th.

Therefore, Parshu Rama Jayanti will be celebrated on April 29th only, as the Tritiya Tithi will not fall within Pradosh Kaal on April 30th, rendering it unsuitable for the main worship.
