India Blocks Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif's YouTube Channel

Shehbaz Sharif: Amidst escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, the Indian government has taken significant action. Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's official YouTube channel has been blocked in India. This follows the Indian government's ban on 16 prominent Pakistani YouTube channels.
India's Digital Counter-Offensive
The Indian government's move comes in the aftermath of the Pulwama terrorist attack, which targeted Indian security forces. Following the attack, India has launched a digital strike against numerous prominent Pakistani social media channels and accounts. Blocking Shehbaz Sharif's YouTube channel is part of this digital campaign, aimed at curbing the spread of inflammatory and false content originating from Pakistan.
Action Against Pakistani Cricketers and Celebrities
Prior to this, the Indian government also blocked the social media accounts of several Pakistani cricketers and celebrities. This included prominent players such as Babar Azam, Mohammad Amir, Naseem Shah, Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Rizwan, Haris Rauf, and Imam-ul-Haq. These individuals were accused of spreading inflammatory content against the Indian army and security agencies.
Misinformation and Pakistan's News Channels
The Indian government has also taken b action against prominent Pakistani news channels. YouTube channels of news outlets like Dawn News, ARY News, Geo News, and Bol TV have been blocked in India. These channels were accused of broadcasting misleading and provocative content against the Indian army and government. Furthermore, channels of several prominent journalists, including Irshad Bhatti, Asma Shirazi, Umar Cheema, and Munib Farooq, have also been banned.
India's Strong Message Amidst Indo-Pak Tensions
Through this digital strike, the Indian government has sent a clear message to Pakistan that it will not tolerate terrorism and the spread of disinformation. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has vowed to punish those responsible for the Pulwama attack. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has also indicated a b stance against terrorists.
Pakistan's Response
In response to this digital strike, Pakistan has taken further action by halting the broadcast of Indian songs on FM radio. Songs by legendary singers like Lata Mangeshkar, Mohammed Rafi, Kishore Kumar, and Mukesh, which are very popular in Pakistan, have been removed. This move is seen as an attempt by Pakistan to shield its citizens from Indian cultural influence.
