Tensions Rise on the India-Pakistan Border Following Repeated Attacks
MEA Press Briefing: Tensions continue to escalate along the India-Pakistan border. For the past two days, Pakistan has attempted multiple missile and drone attacks targeting several Indian cities. These attacks aimed to damage Indian military installations. However, the Indian armed forces, with courage and preparedness, successfully thwarted all attempts.
On Saturday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh held a crucial meeting with the three service chiefs and the CDS to comprehensively analyze the situation. Following this, the army and the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) conducted a joint press briefing to expose the falsehoods propagated by Pakistan.
Army Releases Video Evidence
During the press briefing, the army released video evidence clearly demonstrating the falsity of Pakistan's claims. No damage was inflicted on any Indian Air Force station.
The army reported more than 26 violations of Indian airspace by Pakistan. Attempts were made to launch drone and missile attacks on sensitive areas like Jammu, Srinagar, Pathankot, and Pokhran, all of which were successfully thwarted by Indian security forces.
Colonel Sophia Kureshi Provides Key Information
Army spokesperson Colonel Sophia Kureshi stated that Pakistan used long-range missiles, drones, and fighter jets. Their objective was to damage Indian military installations and spread fear among civilians.
She also revealed that at 1:40 AM, Pakistan attempted to target a Punjab airbase with high-speed missiles. Furthermore, they attacked non-military targets such as healthcare facilities and schools – a clear violation of the laws of war.
32 Airports Closed Until May 14th; Situation Under Control
As a precautionary measure, India has temporarily closed 32 airports until May 14th. This government action prioritizes citizen safety. The situation is continuously monitored, and the army is fully prepared to handle any eventuality.
India Responds in Kind
The army and MEA clearly stated in the press conference that India desires peace, but any act of provocation will receive a befitting response. Pakistan not only attacked military installations but also attempted to mislead the world by spreading false news and misinformation.
