The Maharashtra government promised women ₹2100 under the 'Ladki Bahin Yojana,' but Sanjay Raut claims they are only receiving ₹500. He has also questioned Ajit Pawar.
Maharashtra Politics: Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut has targeted Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy CM Ajit Pawar, accusing the Maharashtra government of failing to fulfill its election promises. He alleges that the state government promised women ₹2100 per month under the 'Ladki Bahin Yojana' during elections, but now they are receiving only ₹500.
What is the 'Ladki Bahin Yojana'?
'Ladki Bahin Yojana' was launched by the Maharashtra government to empower women economically. The government promised ₹2100 per month to women under this scheme, but the amount has now been reduced to ₹500. Sanjay Raut claims this promise was merely an election gimmick, now completely disregarded.
What did Sanjay Raut say?
In a Mumbai press conference, Sanjay Raut alleged, "Before the elections, the Chief Minister said each woman would receive ₹1500, later increasing it to ₹2100. But now, women are only receiving ₹500."
Attack on Ajit Pawar
Sanjay Raut also questioned Deputy CM Ajit Pawar. He stated that when Ajit Pawar was asked about this promise, he denied ever making it. Raut responded, "Mr. Ajit Pawar, you are a member of the government. Didn't your government make this promise?"
Aditya Thackeray's Statement
Aditya Thackeray also accused the government of reneging on its promises and acting shamelessly. He further alleged that the number of beneficiaries under 'Ladki Bahin Yojana' is decreasing, and the amount women receive has also been reduced.
Ajit Pawar's ₹36,000 Crore Budget
Deputy CM Ajit Pawar allocated ₹36,000 crore in the budget presented to the Legislative Assembly in March this year for the 'Ladki Bahin Yojana.' According to him, this budget will benefit 2.53 crore women in the state.
