Following a devastating terrorist attack in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir, political reactions to India's air strike, 'Operation Sindoor,' have intensified. Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah stated unequivocally on Wednesday that Pakistan is entirely responsible for the current situation.

Srinagar: After the terrorist attack in Pulwama, India launched air strikes against Pakistan under Operation Sindoor. This Indian military action targeted terrorist bases, prompting retaliatory fire from Pakistan on civilian targets. Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah responded to these events, stating that war is not in anyone's interest.

He urged Pakistan to cease hostilities. Omar Abdullah also clarified that Pakistan is solely responsible for the current situation, as the terrorist attack in Pulwama resulted in the deaths of 26 innocent people, prompting India's retaliatory action against terrorist bases.

"We sought peace, but Pakistan shed blood" - CM Abdullah

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah stated that nobody desires war. He emphasized that India has consistently sought dialogue and peace, but Pakistan's repeated acts of terrorism have forced a response. The loss of 26 innocent lives in Pulwama necessitated a response.

He further stated that India, through Operation Sindoor, targeted only terrorist bases. This action was limited, planned, and solely against terrorist infrastructure. However, Pakistan's subsequent shelling of civilian areas reveals its true intentions.

Pakistan must first silence its guns

CM Omar Abdullah unequivocally stated that if Pakistan genuinely desires peace, it must first cease its hostilities. India never initiated conflict, but when its citizens, security forces, and border personnel are targeted, a response becomes necessary. He also clarified that the Indian air strike was not intended to provoke any country but was a defensive and protective measure. He supported the central government's decision, stating that such decisive action had been long overdue.

CM Abdullah further stated that Pakistan repeatedly forgets that harboring terrorism will ultimately prove fatal. India will no longer tolerate Pakistan's attempts to destabilize Jammu and Kashmir by providing shelter to terrorist organizations.

He also appealed to the international community to pressure Pakistan to cease cross-border terrorism and establish lasting peace in the region. Finally, Omar Abdullah stated that India does not want the situation to escalate. The people of Jammu and Kashmir desire peace and progress. The tension arising from Operation Sindoor must be de-escalated as soon as possible. However, this is only possible if Pakistan ceases provocative actions and creates a conducive environment for dialogue.
