He also offered prayers at the Karni Mata Temple. The visit wasn't solely focused on development; it also served as a platform to deliver a b message against Pakistan and terrorism.
First Border Visit After Operation Sindur
On May 7th, India launched "Operation Sindur," targeting terrorist camps in Bahawalpur, Pakistan, and POK. This military operation was a response to a terrorist attack in Pulwama, Kashmir, on April 22nd, which specifically targeted women. PM Modi: "Revenge for April 22nd Taken in 22 Minutes"
Addressing the nation, Prime Minister Modi issued a stern warning to terrorists, stating that in response to the April 22nd attack, nine major terrorist camps were destroyed in 22 minutes. He emphasized that the world witnessed the consequences when "Sindur" (vermillion, symbolizing marital status) turned into gunpowder.
He further asserted that India is no longer intimidated by threats of "atom bombs." No distinction will be made between terrorists and their sponsors; those who spread violence will be met with decisive retaliation.
Salute to the Armed Forces
PM Modi lauded the bravery of the Indian armed forces, stating that the three branches of the military had effectively cornered Pakistan. He highlighted the unity of 1.4 billion Indians in the face of national crisis and their resolve against terrorism.
"The bullets were fired in Pulwama, but the wounds were felt across the nation. Now, a commitment has been made to eradicate terrorism," he declared.
Significance of the Bikaner Visit
Bikaner is located just 40 kilometers from Bahawalpur, Pakistan, a region known to house headquarters of terrorist organizations like Jaish-e-Mohammed. Operation Sindur targeted these very camps. Therefore, the Bikaner visit is not only strategically significant but also demonstrates India's resolve to respond decisively to acts of terror.
