Senior Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tej Pratap Yadav has been expelled from the party. Party supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav announced the decision on social media, stating that Tej Pratap is being suspended from the party for six years.

Patna: Bihar's political landscape witnessed a major and unexpected turn on Saturday when Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief and former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav announced the expulsion of his elder son, Tej Pratap Yadav, from the party. This decision not only sent ripples through political circles but also indicates turmoil within the Yadav family.

Lalu Prasad Yadav publicly announced this decision via social media. He clarified in his statement that Tej Pratap's behavior, public conduct, and attitude towards responsibilities are against the party's principles and family values.

Lalu's Firm Stance: Public Expulsion

In his tweet, Lalu Yadav wrote, "Disregarding ethical values in personal life weakens our collective struggle for social justice. My elder son's activities, public conduct, and irresponsible behavior are not in line with our family values and traditions. Therefore, due to the above circumstances, I am distancing him from the party and family."

He explicitly stated that Tej Pratap Yadav will no longer have any influence within the party or in family decisions. This statement reflects Lalu's prioritization of family honor over political considerations.

Six-Year Expulsion: Tej Pratap's Political Path Difficult

Lalu Prasad Yadav has decided to expel Tej Pratap for six years. Such a harsh decision is considered rare within a family-based political party like the RJD. This step is a major setback for Tej Pratap's political career, as he has already been in the headlines for his statements and controversial remarks.

Lalu Prasad Yadav added that he has always tried to maintain a culture of discipline and public decorum within the family and party. He stated, "I have always championed public decorum in public life. Obedient members of the family have accepted and followed this principle in public life." Lalu further said that Tej Pratap should now make his own life decisions, and those associated with him should also decide based on their own judgment.
