Samajwadi Party MP Ramjilal Suman and his son, former MLA Ranjit Suman, have approached the Allahabad High Court seeking enhanced security. They filed a petition requesting central security protection citing recent attacks and ongoing threats against them.

Prayagraj: The Samajwadi Party's Rajya Sabha MP, Ramjilal Suman, and his son, former MLA Ranjit Suman, have expressed serious concerns regarding their safety. They have sought refuge in the Allahabad High Court, pleading with the central government for special security. This action follows a recent attack on their Agra residence and persistent threats they have received.

In the petition, MP Suman requested not only personal security but also stringent protection for his family and residence. He urged the court to direct the central government to provide him with "Z-category" security to ensure the safety of his life and property.

Controversy Following Remarks on Rana Sanga

Ramjilal Suman has been embroiled in controversy over recent statements he made regarding Rana Sanga. Following his remarks, certain organizations threatened protests, leading to an attack and vandalism at his Agra home. The petition also seeks to prevent a planned protest in Agra on April 12th.

Demand for CBI or SIT Investigation

The Suman family has also urged the court for a high-level investigation into the attack on their residence. They have demanded the constitution of a CBI or Special Investigation Team (SIT) to ensure an impartial probe, arguing that the local police's actions have been insufficient. This petition is listed for hearing before a division bench of the High Court headed by Justice Rajiv Gupta. Senior advocate Imran Ullah and advocate Vineet Vikram will represent the MP in court.

Suman States: "I Stand by My Statement, I Will Not Be Intimidated"

Despite the controversy, MP Ramjilal Suman maintains his stance on his previous statement. He asserted that he will not be intimidated, but has sought court intervention to uphold law and order. A hearing on this petition is expected in the coming week. The court's directives regarding the Suman family's security and the involvement of central security agencies remain to be seen.
