Three Army Personnel Killed in Ramban Truck Accident

Jammu Kashmir Accident: A devastating road accident occurred in Ramban district, Jammu and Kashmir, on Sunday. An army vehicle lost control and plunged into a 700-foot deep gorge. Three army personnel were killed instantly. The deceased have been identified as Sepoy Amit Kumar, Sujeet Kumar, and Man Bahadur.

Army Truck Part of a Convoy

The accident happened around 11:30 AM on National Highway-44, while the army truck was part of a military convoy traveling from Jammu to Srinagar. Near Battery Chashma, the truck skidded off the road and fell into the gorge.

Rescue Teams Recover Bodies

Following the incident, a joint rescue operation was launched involving the army, police, SDRF, and local volunteers. However, all three soldiers in the vehicle had already perished. Their bodies were recovered from the gorge, and further procedures are underway. The vehicle was completely destroyed, reduced to a mangled wreck.

Questions Raised About Security Protocols

This tragic incident has again raised questions about the movement of military vehicles and safety measures in hilly areas. There are growing demands for stricter safety protocols, especially considering the challenging terrain and often adverse weather conditions.
