Pakistan had appealed to various international bodies, including the United Nations and the World Bank. However, World Bank President Ajay Banga explicitly stated that his institution has no decisive role in the matter. He clarified that the World Bank's sole function is mediation. World Bank's Stance: "No Role Beyond Mediation"
Speaking to the media, World Bank President Ajay Banga said, "There's media discussion suggesting the World Bank will resolve this, but that's nonsense. Our role is solely that of a mediator." The World Bank has made it clear that it will not have a decisive hand in the Indus Waters Treaty, and can only provide a platform for dialogue between the two countries.
Pakistan's Complaints and the World Bank's Rebuff
Pakistan has expressed its concerns regarding the Indus Waters Treaty with India, raising the issue on international forums. Pakistani leaders had even threatened to suspend the treaty, but the World Bank's statement effectively undermined these efforts. Pakistan accused India of violating the treaty, but the World Bank positioned itself only as a mediator capable of facilitating communication between the two nations, but not of rendering a judgment.
Pakistan's Frustration Following India's Strong Response
India has taken several b measures against Pakistan, including Operation Sindoor, where the Indian Army targeted terrorist bases in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Following this, Pakistan launched drones and missiles targeting Indian cities, but these attacks were thwarted by Indian defense systems. India's S-400 and Akash missile defense systems successfully destroyed all Pakistani drones and missiles.
India's Response to Pakistan's Military Action
Subsequently, Pakistan's JF-17 and F-16 fighter jets were also shot down by the Indian Air Force. Amidst these events, India continues to strengthen its position, consistently thwarting Pakistan's attempts.
