The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has extended the application deadline for the Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) recruitment 2025. Candidates can now apply until May 19, 2025. This decision provides relief to candidates who were unable to apply earlier due to various reasons.
Education: The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has extended the application deadline for the Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) recruitment 2025, giving another opportunity to candidates who could not apply earlier. The application process was initially scheduled to end on May 7, but candidates can now apply until May 19, 2025. The last date for fee payment has also been extended to May 21, 2025.

- Last date for online application: May 19, 2025 (until 11:59 PM)

- Application form correction window: May 22 to May 31, 2025
- Age limit determination date: July 1, 2025
- Last date for validity of educational qualifications and certificates: May 19, 2025
Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed Class 10 and possess an ITI certificate in the relevant trade. Additionally, Diploma or Engineering degree holders in the relevant subject are also eligible.
- Age Limit: The candidate's age should be between 18 and 30 years as on July 1, 2025. Age relaxation will be provided to reserved categories as per government norms.
- Application Fee: General and OBC category: ₹500 (₹400 will be refunded upon appearing in CBT 1) SC, ST, PwBD, Women, and Ex-servicemen: ₹250 (fully refunded upon appearing in CBT 1)
Selection Process
- CBT 1: 75 questions, 60 minutes, covering Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Science, and General Awareness.
- CBT 2: Divided into two parts -
- Part A: 100 questions, 90 minutes, based on general subjects.
- Part B: 75 questions, 60 minutes, based on technical subjects.
- CBAT (only for ALP posts): Computer Based Aptitude Test.
- Document Verification and Medical Examination.
Vacancy Details
A total of 9,970 Assistant Loco Pilot posts will be filled through this recruitment process. Of these, 4,116 posts are for the unreserved category, 1,716 for SC, 858 for ST, 2,289 for OBC, and 991 for EWS category. Additionally, 1,004 posts are reserved for ex-servicemen.
