Sports News: Gujarat Titans' rising star, Sai Sudarshan, created history in the cricketing world on Friday during an IPL 2025 match at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Against Sunrisers Hyderabad, he achieved several major records, most notably becoming the fastest to reach 2000 runs in T20 cricket. In doing so, he surpassed the records of the legendary Sachin Tendulkar and Australian batsman Shaun Marsh.

Dominating from the Innings Start

Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins won the toss and opted to bowl first. Sai Sudarshan and captain Shubman Gill opened for Gujarat Titans, adopting an aggressive approach from the outset. This young pair built a b foundation for the team, scoring 87 runs in just 41 balls.

Sudarshan played a blistering innings of 48 runs off 23 balls, including 9 fours. He thoroughly dominated Hyderabad's bowlers in the powerplay before being dismissed by Jishan Ansari, but not before etching his name in history.

Surpassing Sachin and Marsh's Records

In this match, Sai Sudarshan reached 2000 runs in T20 cricket in just 54 innings. This made him the fastest Indian batsman to achieve this feat, surpassing Sachin Tendulkar's record of 59 innings. Globally, Sudarshan is now the second-fastest batsman to reach 2000 T20 runs, trailing only Shaun Marsh, who achieved the milestone in 53 innings.

A Giant Leap in IPL as Well

Sudarshan also reached 1500 runs in the IPL in this match, becoming the fastest to do so in IPL history. He achieved this milestone in just 35 innings, surpassing the previous record held by Ruturaj Gaikwad and Tendulkar (44 innings).
