The countdown to the 2025 World Test Championship (WTC) Final has begun, and cricket enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the epic clash at Lord's on June 11th.

Sports News: The World Test Championship (WTC) final will be played at the historic Lord's Cricket Ground from June 11th, featuring a thrilling contest between Australia and South Africa. This title clash promises to be incredibly exciting for cricket fans. May 13th was the deadline for announcing the final squads, and both teams declared their final teams in time.

Australia had already released its squad, followed by South Africa's announcement. All eyes are now on this mega-match, where two of the world's best Test teams will battle for the championship.

Bavuma to Lead

South Africa has assembled an excellent mix of experienced and young players for this historic encounter. Veteran batsman Temba Bavuma will once again captain the team, having consistently provided stability through his calm demeanor and strategic thinking in recent years. Star pacer Kagiso Rabada will lead the pace attack.

Rabada will be supported by Dean Elgar and Lungi Ngidi, returning to the Test team after October 2024. Their return has revitalized the pace attack. Additionally, tall all-rounder Marco Jansen, Wiaan Mulder, and young bowler Corbin Bosch have been included, adding depth to the bowling and providing useful lower-order batting.

Maharaj and Muthusami in the Spin Department

While the Lord's pitch is generally considered favorable to fast bowlers, South Africa has included two spinners in the squad. Veteran left-arm spinner Keshav Maharaj is joined by Senuran Muthusamy, who can also contribute as an all-rounder. Although spinners might have a limited role in English conditions, their contribution could be crucial in a longer match.

The top order includes technically b batsmen like Aiden Markram and Tony de Zorzi, capable of confidently facing the new ball. Talented young batsmen like Ryan Rickelton, Tristan Stubbs, and David Bedingham are also part of the squad, with high expectations for significant contributions. Kyle Verreynne retains his position as wicketkeeper, providing value both behind the stumps and with the bat.
