Sonam, a resident of Indore, married Raja Raghuvanshi on May 11th in a Hindu ceremony. The family celebrated, and the newlywed couple left for their honeymoon in Shillong on May 20th. Initially, everything seemed normal, but on May 23rd, they both disappeared.

Raja's Body Found in a Deep Ravine, Sonam Vanishes

Both their mobile phones were switched off from May 23rd, and on May 24th, their scooter was found abandoned. Their belongings were later recovered from a jungle. Finally, on June 2nd, Raja's body was discovered in a deep ravine near Weisaidong Waterfall. He was identified by a tattoo on his hand.

Sonam Reveals Her Location After 17 Days

On the morning of June 9th, Sonam unexpectedly appeared at a roadside eatery in Ghazipur. She used the eatery owner's phone to video call her brother, revealing her location. Police apprehended her, and a medical examination revealed no signs of injury or assault.

Conspiracy Stemming from an Affair

Police investigations revealed Sonam had a pre-existing romantic relationship. She conspired with her lover to eliminate her husband. Raja was murdered in Shillong under the guise of a honeymoon. Four people, including Sonam (three from Indore and one from Uttar Pradesh), have been arrested in connection with this case. One suspect remains at large.

CCTV Footage and Call Recordings Provide Crucial Clues

CCTV footage from outside a hotel on May 22nd shows Raja and Sonam on a scooter. On May 23rd, Sonam spoke to Raja's mother for the last time. The call recording depicts her expressing distress innocently, yet she is now revealed as the mastermind behind the murder.

Sonam's mother, Sangita, stated to the media that while relieved to have her daughter back, the grief over Raja's death remains immense. She added that the truth will only be clear after the investigation concludes.
