Leader of the Opposition Jairam Thakur Attacks Sukhu Government
Himachal News: Himachal Pradesh's Leader of the Opposition, Jairam Thakur, launched a sharp attack on the Sukhu government. He stated that while FIRs were filed against women protesting against a liquor shop in Nalagarh, no action was taken against an illegal liquor factory seized in Kala Amb. Thakur characterized this as a double standard and anti-people attitude by the government. He also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's development initiatives.
Jairam Thakur's Assault on the Sukhu Government
Himachal Pradesh's Leader of the Opposition and senior BJP leader, Jairam Thakur, criticized the Sukhu government, stating that its true face is now before the public. He said that when women protested against the opening of a liquor shop in Nalagarh, instead of engaging with them, the government filed FIRs against them. This case has generated considerable public discussion, as the action against women is a sensitive issue.
FIRs Against Women and Silence on Illegal Liquor Factory
Jairam Thakur stated that FIRs were filed against 30-35 women and villagers protesting against the liquor shop in Nalagarh, while an illegal liquor factory in Kala Amb, containing approximately 3.95 lakh bottles of English liquor, thousands of empty bottles, and manufacturing equipment, was seized without any subsequent FIR or stringent action.
He alleged that the Chief Minister's Office intervened to prevent action, showcasing the government's efforts to protect illegal activities while suppressing public dissent by filing cases against women.
Controversy over Liquor Shop Relocation
Jairam Thakur also stated that relocating the liquor shop wouldn't have been a major problem. He questioned why the government is creating controversy, suggesting it's a strategy to suppress public opposition using legal tactics.
Praise for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Development Initiatives
Jairam Thakur also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's policies. He stated that the Modi government's development-oriented approach and "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas" policy have significantly reduced extreme poverty in the country. The poverty rate, which was 27.1 percent in 2014, has dropped to 5.3 percent, as evidenced by World Bank reports.
Visit to Road Accident Victims in Nerchowk
Jairam Thakur visited Lal Bahadur Shastri Medical College in Nerchowk on Sunday, where he met with victims of a road accident at the Gram Panchayat Shala. He consoled the victims' families and assured them of better treatment. He also instructed the hospital administration to ensure no shortcomings in the treatment of the injured.
