Covid-19: India is witnessing a resurgence in Covid-19 cases. According to the latest data from the Ministry of Health, the number of active Covid cases in India has crossed 7,000. The highest number of cases are being reported from states like Kerala, Maharashtra, and Delhi.

RT-PCR Test Mandatory Before Meeting PM

In view of the rising Covid cases, the central government has taken a significant precautionary step. Ministers and other senior officials are now required to undergo an RT-PCR test before meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This decision aims to ensure PM Modi's safety and prevent any potential infection.

Decision Taken Under Security Protocol

According to government sources, this decision has been taken purely from a security and precautionary perspective. A foreign delegation recently met at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg, PM Modi's residence. Covid-19 tests were mandatory for all members then. This procedure will now be implemented for all meetings.

RT-PCR Test Mandatory Before BJP Leaders' Meeting in Delhi

Reportedly, an important meeting between BJP MPs, MLAs, and senior leaders with PM Modi is scheduled in Delhi. A Covid test is mandatory for all attendees. Everyone must submit a negative Covid report before the meeting.

Slight Relief in Delhi, Highest Cases in Kerala

While active cases across the country have exceeded 7,000, there is some relief in the national capital, Delhi. While 728 Covid cases were reported on Monday, the number decreased to 691 on Tuesday. On the other hand, the situation remains most concerning in Kerala with 2053 active cases. 96 new Covid patients were reported nationwide in the last 24 hours.
