Adani Group: Mutual funds hold investments in 10 Adani Group companies, but since January, they have begun reducing their stake in eight listed companies.
Adani Group: Mutual funds have started gradually decreasing their investments in Adani Group companies, signaling a downturn in the sector. In April, funds sold shares worth over ₹1,160 crore in eight listed companies. In March, stakes were reduced in four companies. The largest sale occurred in Adani Enterprises, where mutual funds withdrew investments exceeding ₹346 crore. This was followed by reductions of ₹302 crore and ₹241 crore in Adani Energy Solutions and Ambuja Cements respectively.
Only One Company Remains a Favorite Among Mutual Funds
In April, mutual funds reduced their holdings in most Adani Group companies, selling shares worth ₹124 crore from ACC, ₹7.7 crore from Adani Ports and SEZ, and ₹3.43 crore from Adani Total Gas. However, Adani Power was the only company where mutual funds made a new investment of ₹102 crore. This trend continued in March, with selling observed in most group companies except Adani Green Energy and Adani Enterprises. This reduction in investment began in January, when purchases were limited to ₹480 crore. In February, mutual funds reduced their investment by approximately ₹321 crore across eight Adani companies.
Significant Mutual Fund Investment in Adani Enterprises
A total of 34 mutual funds have invested in Adani Enterprises. Quant Mutual Fund tops the list with investments exceeding ₹1,620 crore. SBI Mutual Fund is second, with approximately ₹1,400 crore invested, while ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund is third, holding ₹623 crore. By the end of April, mutual funds held approximately 2.71 crore shares of Adani Enterprises, valued at approximately ₹6,257 crore.
Strong Mutual Fund Investment in Adani Power
A total of 22 mutual fund houses have invested in Adani Power, with Quant Mutual Fund making the largest contribution, investing over ₹2,725 crore. By the end of April, these funds held approximately 6.51 crore shares of Adani Power, valued at ₹3,464 crore.
Mutual Fund Investments in Other Adani Group Companies
- 28 mutual funds have purchased shares worth ₹4,874 crore in ACC.
- Taurus Mutual Fund holds a stake of ₹2.28 crore in Sanghi Industries.
- 20 mutual funds have invested ₹3,030 crore in AWL Agri Business.
- 34 mutual funds hold a total of 18.74 crore shares in Ambuja Cement. In April, 28 mutual funds invested in 2.58 crore shares of ACC.
- 36 mutual funds hold 10.84 crore shares in Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone.
- 19 mutual funds have invested in Adani Total Gas.
- 26 mutual funds hold a stake in Adani Green Energy.
- 27 mutual funds have invested in Adani Energy Solutions.
