Enraged by this disrespectful prank, Sage Durvasa cursed Samba that he would give birth to an iron mace, which would cause the destruction of his own clan. As per the curse, a mace emerged from Samba's womb. The Yadavas threw it into the sea, but its particles transformed into grass on the seashore.
Over time, this grass became a weapon during the internecine conflict among the Yadavas at Prabhasa Kshetra, leading to the complete annihilation of the Yadava dynasty. Krishna's sons, brothers, and descendants perished in the ensuing civil war. Samba himself died in this conflict.
Sun Worship and the Konark Temple Connection
