Four Killed in Bihar Road Accident
Bihar Accident: A tragic road accident occurred in the Karakat police station area of Rohtas district, Bihar, resulting in the death of four members of the same family. The victims include a husband, wife, and their two young children. Following the accident, angry villagers blocked the road in protest, placing the bodies on the highway.
How the Accident Happened?
This devastating accident took place on Monday on the National Highway (NH) near Itwan village in Karakat. Ramesh Sah (36), a resident of Ladui village, was riding his motorcycle with his wife, Tetri Devi aka Kanchan Devi (32), daughter Aradhana (8), and son Aryan (6), traveling to his in-laws' home in Karup.
An uncontrolled passenger bus traveling from Dehri towards Bikramganj collided violently with their motorcycle. The impact was so severe that Ramesh Sah, his wife, and daughter died at the scene. Their son, Aryan, was rushed to the hospital in critical condition but succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
Aftermath: Road Blockade and Public Outrage
Enraged by the deaths of the four family members, villagers blocked the National Highway near Karup Bazaar, placing the bodies on the road. This resulted in long queues of vehicles on both sides. Villagers demanded the presence of senior officials and expressed their anger at the police and administration.
Attempts at Persuasion Fail
Upon receiving information about the incident, BDO Rahul Kumar Singh, CO Dr. Ritesh Kumar, and the station house officer Bhagirath Kumar arrived at the scene and attempted to pacify the crowd. However, the angry villagers remained adamant, insisting on the arrival of senior officials.
Bus Number Noted, Driver Flees the Scene
Villagers claim the accident was due to the negligence of the bus driver, who they say collided with them while driving in a no-entry zone. The villagers noted down the bus number. The bus driver fled the scene after the accident. Villagers also accused the police of negligence, stating that the police allowed heavy vehicles to enter the wrong lane.
Increased Police Deployment
Considering the escalating tension, police from Nasriganj and Kachwa police stations were deployed alongside local police. Authorities stated that efforts are underway to pacify the situation and that strict action will be taken against those responsible.
