Review of Preparations for Prime Minister Modi's Arrival
On Monday, Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh and Director General of Police Prashant Kumar visited Kanpur to inspect the preparations for Prime Minister Modi's visit on May 30th. Both officials arrived by helicopter at the helipad located at the CSA ground, the venue for PM Modi's public meeting. They will thoroughly inspect the venue, including seating arrangements, security measures, and other preparations.
Following this, the officials held a video conference meeting with local authorities at the Divisional Commissioner's camp office to discuss security, public meeting management, and other necessary preparations. Police and administrative officers were instructed to ensure no security lapses and that the public meeting is conducted in an orderly manner.
Public Meeting Venue and Security Arrangements
The CSA ground is being prepared for PM Modi's public meeting. Seating arrangements have been made for approximately 50,000 people, including 27,000 beneficiaries invited under government schemes. Special security arrangements have been implemented at the venue and surrounding areas. A bomb disposal squad has also inspected the area to prevent any security threats.
Two fleets of vehicles, coordinated by the police and administration, are ready, and rehearsals will be conducted soon. The Special Protection Group (SPG) will also be deployed for security. District officials, including District Magistrate Jitendra Pratap Singh and CDO Deeksha Jain, are overseeing the entire event.
The route from Chakeri Airport to the CSA ground is being regularly inspected. Several mock drills have been conducted to prevent any untoward incidents, leading to heightened vigilance across the city.
Projects Included in PM Modi's Program
During his Kanpur visit, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for 11 major projects worth approximately ₹20,656 crore. These projects include significant infrastructure projects such as the metro rail, the Panaki-Ghatampur power plant, and the establishment of a 100-bed hospital in the south. These projects will give a new direction to Kanpur's development and create employment opportunities for thousands.
The metro project will help alleviate the city's traffic problems, while the power plant will address energy shortages. The hospital will improve healthcare services and provide better facilities for patients.
Shubham Dwivedi's Family Preparing to Meet PM Modi
The family of Shubham Dwivedi, who was martyred in the Pulwama terrorist attack, will also be given an opportunity to meet Prime Minister Modi. MP Ramesh Awasthi has written to the PM in this regard. Kanpur-Unnao MLA Arun Pathak has also assured support and assistance to the family. This move is seen as a gesture of respect and sensitivity towards the martyr's family.
Daily Activities and Program Schedule
During PM Modi's May 30th program, the Chief Secretary and DGP will arrive at the CSA ground by helicopter at 10:40 AM. They will then inspect the public meeting venue and hold a meeting with officials. This meeting will review the preparations for the public meeting and security arrangements. Officials will also participate via video conferencing from the Divisional Commissioner's office.
At 2:00 PM, PM Modi will depart from the CSA ground for Lucknow. The administration has prepared a roadmap for the PM's arrival, meeting, and departure to ensure the program runs smoothly.
Previously Cancelled Program
Prime Minister Modi's visit was initially scheduled for April 24th but was postponed due to the Pulwama terrorist attack. It is now being rescheduled, and the administration is fully prepared.
