Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi to Launch 'Shiksha Nyay Samvad' in Darbhanga on May 15th.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will embark on a visit to Darbhanga, Bihar, on May 15th, to launch 'Shiksha Nyay Samvad' (Education Justice Dialogue). During this visit, he will highlight the problems plaguing Bihar's education system and interact with students to understand their grievances. Senior Congress leader Kanhaiya Kumar provided details about this initiative. This dialogue forms part of the Congress's public outreach campaign in Bihar, aiming to bring to light the prevalent issues within the state's education sector.
What will 'Shiksha Nyay Samvad' entail?
The Congress has launched 'Shiksha Nyay Samvad' to expose the shortcomings of Bihar's education system. Under this campaign, Rahul Gandhi and over 60 national Congress leaders will visit various districts across the state to engage with students. The primary objective is to gather information about students' problems. Subsequently, a 'Nyay Patra' (Justice Document) will be prepared outlining solutions to the issues raised.
Kanhaiya Kumar clarified that this campaign will be ongoing, not time-bound. Congress leaders will visit colleges, universities, and hostels to understand student concerns.
Shortcomings in the Education System and Student Problems
Kanhaiya Kumar highlighted several issues within Bihar's education system. He stated that Bihar's students have been facing problems such as delays in academic sessions, question paper leaks, and suppression of protests for years. Furthermore, students lack adequate facilities.
This Congress campaign could be a significant step towards improving Bihar's education sector. Based on this dialogue, the Congress plans to prepare a 'Nyay Patra,' which will serve as the basis for the India alliance's promises should they form the next government in Bihar.
Congress's Public Outreach Campaign
Former JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar emphasized that the Congress's public outreach campaign is not a film to be judged as a hit or flop. He explained that while the 'Palayan Roko, Naukri Do Padayatra' (Stop Migration, Give Jobs Foot March) has concluded, the Congress's engagement with the public will continue. The Congress aims to establish its presence in the hearts of Bihar's people and strive to resolve their issues.
Kanhaiya Kumar stated that connecting with the public is an ongoing process. Congress leaders will remain among the people, not just during elections, but constantly seeking solutions to their problems.
Targeting Nitish Kumar and the 'Double Engine' Government
The 'double engine' government in Bihar also faced b criticism. He argued that Bihar hasn't significantly benefited under Nitish Kumar's leadership. Meanwhile, Gujarat, the home state of Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, receives major projects like the bullet train. This disparity in development is a concern for the Congress.
He criticized the opposition's double-engine government, stating that no real change has occurred in the state. The Congress believes that Bihar's education system and development require a b and stable government.
Congress's Stance on Caste Census
Kanhaiya Kumar also expressed his views on the caste census. He stated that the Congress wants a scientifically conducted caste census, similar to that conducted in Telangana. This will involve a detailed questionnaire to obtain accurate data on all castes and communities.
The Congress also suggests that the 50% reservation limit could be removed. If necessary, the EWS (Economically Weaker Section) reservation could also be increased to ensure that all sections receive justice in proportion to their population. The Congress intends to formulate a robust and transparent policy on this matter.
