Rajnath Singh Jammu Kashmir Visit: Defense Minister Rajnath Singh visited Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, on Thursday, his first trip after Operation Sindur. He met with army personnel, boosting their morale and expressing gratitude on behalf of the nation. During his visit, he made significant statements regarding Pakistan and terrorism, considered crucial from a national security perspective.
Post-Operation Sindur Meeting with Soldiers
Rajnath Singh began his visit by meeting with army personnel. He commended their courage and valor in challenging circumstances. He stated that the entire nation is proud of the Indian Army's actions during Operation Sindur under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.
The Defense Minister, with emotion, said, "Before being the Defense Minister, I am an Indian citizen. I have come here to thank you all."
Responding to Terrorists Based on Actions, Not Religion
Referring to the Pulwama attack, the Defense Minister stated that terrorists murdered innocent Indians based on religion. However, India responded to the terrorists based on their actions. He explicitly stated, "We act based on deeds, not religion. Our resolve against terrorism is unwavering."
Stern Response to Pakistan's Threats
Rajnath Singh firmly responded to Pakistan's nuclear threats. He asserted that India will not be intimidated by these threats. "Twenty-one years ago, Pakistan promised not to spread terrorism, but it broke that promise. Now, it is paying, and will continue to pay, a heavy price," the Defense Minister stated unequivocally.
Salute to the People of Jammu and Kashmir
Praising the patriotism of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, Rajnath Singh said, "The anger expressed by the people here against terrorists and Pakistan after the Pulwama attack is commendable. I salute the people of Jammu and Kashmir."
He emphasized that Operation Sindur is not merely a military operation but a symbol of India's commitment. It demonstrates India's resolve not only to defend itself but also to take decisive action when necessary.
India's Readiness to Go to Any Length Against Terrorism
The Defense Minister clarified that India is prepared to go to any length to combat terrorism. He stated, "For the past 35-40 years, India has faced cross-border terrorism. But now we have shown the world that terrorism will not be tolerated."
Operation Sindur: India's Major Counter-Terrorist Operation
Rajnath Singh described Operation Sindur as India's largest counter-terrorism operation to date. During this operation, the army destroyed enemy bunkers, posts, and terrorist hideouts. He stated that this operation is not just a military success but a testament to India's resolve.
