US President Donald Trump claimed credit for the India-Pakistan ceasefire and offered to mediate on the Kashmir issue. Priyanka Chaturvedi responded bly, asserting that India will resolve the issue itself.
Solution on Kashmir: Recently, US President Donald Trump attempted to take credit for the ceasefire between India and Pakistan and offered mediation on the Kashmir issue. Indian Member of Parliament Priyanka Chaturvedi responded firmly, clarifying that India should find a solution to this issue independently, without external intervention.
What did Trump say?
Through a social media post, US President Donald Trump stated that a ceasefire between India and Pakistan was reached following US mediation. He further suggested exploring a solution to the Kashmir issue, working with both countries to see if a resolution could be achieved after so many years. Trump claimed that millions of lives would have been lost if peace hadn't been established between the two nations.
Priyanka Chaturvedi's Response
Responding to Trump's statement, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi stated that India does not require external intervention to resolve the Kashmir issue. She tweeted, "No need for US or any other country's intervention to find a solution to the Kashmir issue." Chaturvedi also asserted that it is India's prerogative to find solutions to its own challenges.
She further added, "Fate has given us this responsibility and India should face this challenge." Priyanka's statement clearly indicates India's desire for a completely independent resolution of the Kashmir issue without third-party interference.
India's Stance
India has consistently rejected any third-party intervention on the Kashmir issue. The Indian government has repeatedly clarified that Kashmir is an integral part of India and will not accept any external interference in this matter.
This time, when Trump offered his mediation on the Kashmir issue, India further solidified its position, stating that only dialogue between India and Pakistan can address the matter. India also clarified that the ceasefire agreement was a result of talks between the two countries' Director Generals of Military Operations (DGMOs), not external intervention.
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar's Statement
India's External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar also clarified India's stance. He stated that India has consistently maintained a firm policy against terrorism. He added, "India and Pakistan have agreed to cease firing and military actions. India will maintain a firm and unwavering stance against all forms and manifestations of terrorism."
India-Pakistan Ceasefire
While US President Donald Trump attempted to credit his administration for the ceasefire agreement, stating he would also work with both countries to increase trade, India downplayed his role, reiterating that the agreement was a result of bilateral talks between India and Pakistan, not external intervention.
