Flooding in Manipur
Heavy rainfall over the past two days in the northeastern state of Manipur has caused flooding in the capital, Imphal. Waterlogging in many areas has disrupted daily life. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had earlier issued a heavy rainfall warning for Chandel, Churachandpur, Pherzawl, Kakching, and Thoubal districts.
According to the IMD's Imphal center, the highest rainfall was recorded in the Moreh area at 102 mm, followed by 96 mm in Kamjong and 76 mm in Chandel. This heavy rainfall has inundated roads and disrupted transportation. The local administration is engaged in relief and rescue operations.
