India Weather Alert: Rain and Yellow Alert Issued for Delhi-NCR, Other States to See Changes

Today's Weather: India is experiencing another weather shift. From May 29, 2025, several states, including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, and Uttarakhand, are expected to see significant weather changes. While Delhi-NCR residents have been grappling with intense heat, the prospect of rain offers some relief. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), b winds, thunderstorms, and rain are likely in the coming days.

Delhi-NCR Weather to Change Starting Today

Delhi-NCR has experienced temperatures around 40 degrees Celsius for the past few days. However, the weather is set to change from May 29th. The meteorological department has issued a yellow alert for Delhi. Thunderstorms and rain are anticipated in Delhi and surrounding areas on May 29th, 30th, and 31st.

Rain accompanied by b winds, with speeds reaching 30-40 kilometers per hour, is predicted. There is also a risk of lightning, so people are advised to exercise caution. A temperature drop is expected, with maximum temperatures possibly reaching 36-37 degrees Celsius and minimum temperatures around 25-26 degrees Celsius.

Chances of Rain in UP

Several parts of Uttar Pradesh are also expected to receive rainfall in the next 48 hours. Temperatures in western UP could drop by 2-4 degrees, providing some relief from the heat.

While eastern UP is not expected to see a significant temperature change, cloudy skies and light rain are possible in some areas. According to the meteorological department, favorable conditions for rainfall exist due to a low-pressure system in the Bay of Bengal and a western disturbance.

Rain in 27 Districts of Bihar

Bihar is also expected to experience rainfall. The meteorological department has predicted rain in 27 districts, with a heavy rain alert issued for 12 of them.

These districts include Sitamarhi, Sheohar, Muzaffarpur, Vaishali, Samastipur, Madhubani, Darbhanga, Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Saharsa, Madhepura, Purnia, Katihar, Bhagalpur, Banka, Jamui, Munger, Khagaria, Patna, Jehanabad, Nalanda, Nawada, Sheikhpura, Gaya, Lakhisarai, and Begusarai.

The meteorological department stated that the monsoon is expected to reach Bihar by June 15.

Rain in Rajasthan

Kota and Udaipur divisions in Rajasthan are likely to experience heavy rain and thunderstorms for the next 2-3 days. The department has advised people to remain vigilant and stay in safe locations.

Bikaner, Jaipur, and Bharatpur divisions may also experience thunderstorms on May 29th and 30th. Winds with speeds of 50-60 kilometers per hour are expected in these areas.

Cloudy Skies in Uttarakhand

Most areas in Uttarakhand will experience cloudy skies and light rain. Heavy rain is likely in mountainous regions, while the plains will have partly cloudy skies with occasional drizzle.
