India Weather Update: Rain, Hail, and Thunderstorms Predicted Across Multiple States

The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for most districts of Uttarakhand. A yellow alert has also been issued for some districts due to the possibility of lightning and b winds.

Districts like Dehradun, Nainital, Champawat, and Uttarkashi may experience hail along with rainfall. Pilgrims undertaking the Char Dham Yatra are advised to avoid travel during inclement weather and seek shelter in safe locations.

Rain and Landslide Risk in Jammu and Kashmir

Jammu and Kashmir is also expected to experience changing weather conditions. Landslides and falling rocks along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway have affected traffic. The Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rain in Jammu and Kashmir from May 9th to 12th. Additionally, b winds and showers accompanied by thunder are anticipated. Heavy rain and landslides are particularly likely in several parts of Jammu and Kashmir until May 11th.

Thunderstorms and Hail Alert for Rajasthan

Rajasthan is also experiencing changing weather patterns. A thunderstorm, rain, and hailstorm alert has been issued for 22 districts. Strong winds and rain are predicted for districts such as Ajmer, Banswara, Bhilwara, Kota, and Sirohi. A yellow alert has been issued for these districts. According to the Meteorological Department, rain and thunderstorms will continue across most parts of the state due to the influence of a western disturbance.

Possibility of Hailstorms in Chhattisgarh

Chhattisgarh is also likely to experience changing weather patterns. Strong winds, thunderstorms, and showers are expected in many parts of the state. Hailstorms are also possible in several districts. A slight temperature increase may occur in some areas of South Chhattisgarh, including Raipur, but heatwave conditions are unlikely.
