UPSSSC PET 2025 Notification Released: Registration Opens May 14th

The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has released the official notification for the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) 2025. The registration process for this exam will begin shortly.

Education: The wait is over for the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) 2025, considered the first step towards government jobs in Uttar Pradesh. The UPSSSC released the official notification for this exam on May 2nd, 2025. This exam serves as the basis for recruitment to all Group-'C' posts for which the commission conducts selections. Interested candidates can apply online from May 14th, 2025.

Eligibility Criteria: Who Can Apply?

Only candidates who have passed the High School or equivalent examination are eligible to apply for the PET 2025 exam.

  • Age Limit: The minimum age is 18 years and the maximum age is 40 years. This will be calculated based on July 1st, 2025.
  • Age relaxation will be provided to reserved categories as per the rules.

  • General and OBC - ₹185
  • SC/ST - ₹95
  • Divyang (PwBD) - ₹25
  • The fee can be paid through Debit/Credit Card, Net Banking, UPI, or SBI challan.

How to Apply Online?

  1. First, visit upsssc.gov.in.
  2. Click on the "UPSSSC PET 2025" link on the homepage.
  3. Candidates will now need to register with their primary information.
  4. After completing the registration, log in and fill out the application form.
  5. Now, upload the necessary documents and pay the fee.
  6. Finally, submit the application form and keep a printout for your records.

Why is the PET Exam Necessary?

The UPSSSC PET is a screening test. If you wish to participate in any Group-'C' recruitment exam conducted by the commission in the future, such as Lekhpal, Clerk, Junior Assistant, Forest Guard, Technical Assistant, etc., passing the PET is mandatory. This exam is held annually, and its score is valid for one year. This means that after passing the PET, you will be eligible for various recruitments during that year.

What is the PET Exam Pattern?

The PET 2025 exam will consist of 100 multiple-choice questions covering subjects like General Knowledge, Mathematics, Hindi, Logical Reasoning, Current Affairs, Indian History, and Geography. The exam will be conducted offline, and based on the results, candidates will be shortlisted for the main examination or skill test.
