This year, Bhadrakali Jayanti, commemorating the manifestation of Goddess Bhadrakali, the fierce and protective form of Divine Shakti, will be observed on Friday, May 23, 2025, with reverence and devotion. This sacred date falls on Ekadashi of the Krishna Paksha in the Jyeshtha month, according to the Hindu Panchang. In many states of India, this day is also celebrated as Apar Ekadashi, symbolizing spiritual and cultural faith, representing a beautiful confluence of regional traditions and religious significance.

Legend has it that Goddess Bhadrakali appeared from Lord Shiva's matted hair (jata) after he heard the news of Goddess Sati's demise. Goddess Bhadrakali's manifestation was to vanquish demons. Worship of the Goddess on this day is believed to remove all obstacles and planetary afflictions from life.
