Congress expels Jharkhand's Musabani Block President, Mo. Mustakim, for allegedly supporting BJP candidate. This organizational action was taken based on photographs and other evidence.

Jharkhand Politics: Jharkhand's political landscape witnessed a significant development with the Congress party expelling one of its local leaders. The case involves Mohammad Mustakim, the Musabani Block President in East Singhbhum district, who stands accused of gravely supporting the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate. Congress took b action, immediately removing him from his post and expelling him from the party.

The nature of the dispute?

This matter is linked to the previous Jharkhand Assembly elections. Mohammad Mustakim is alleged to have campaigned for and worked in favor of the BJP candidate, Babulal Soren, while opposing the Congress alliance candidate, Ramdas Soren. This directly contradicted Congress party policy.

Some local party leaders lodged a complaint, presenting photographs as evidence showing Mustakim with the BJP candidate. Furthermore, his attendance at BJP meetings was also reported.

Congress's Action

Amit Rai, the working rural president of East Singhbhum District Congress, executed this action. He issued a letter to Mustakim confirming that his actions were anti-party and, consequently, he was being removed from his position and expelled from the Congress party with immediate effect.

Amit Rai wrote in his letter, "Your activities during the last Assembly elections were against the party's interests. You campaigned for BJP candidate Babulal Soren against the alliance candidate, which has been proven."

A copy of this letter was also sent to the district president of the Congress's minority cell, the state president, and the state in-charge to record this decision at the organizational level.

Strong Evidence of Relations with BJP

District Congress leaders, while demanding action against Mustakim, submitted several photographs of him with the BJP candidate, evidence of his participation in public events, and video footage of him campaigning. This evidence was sufficient to prove his violation of party discipline.

Congress spokesperson Shamsher Khan also confirmed the matter, stating, "The organization has always taken a b stance against those who compromise its principles. Mustakim's expulsion is an example of this."
