India Launches Operation Sindoor After Pulwama Attack; All-Party Meeting Convened

Following the Pulwama Terrorist Attack, the Indian Army Launched Operation Sindoor. The Government has Now Convened an All-Party Meeting to Brief Political Parties.

Operation Sindoor: Following the recent terrorist attack on tourists in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir, India launched a military operation codenamed 'Operation Sindoor' as a b response. Under this operation, the Indian Army targeted nine terrorist bases located in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK) and the Punjab province of Pakistan. Following this bold military action, the central government has convened an all-party meeting on May 8th.

All Parties to be Briefed on the Operation

The all-party meeting is scheduled for 11:00 AM in Room G-074 of the Parliament complex. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi will represent the government. The meeting will be chaired by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, and all political parties will be briefed on Operation Sindoor.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi confirmed this on social media, stating that the meeting aims not only to share information but also to discuss future strategies.

Congress Demands Prime Minister's Presence

The Congress party has demanded the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the meeting. Congress leader Jairam Ramesh stated that the Prime Minister should personally engage with the opposition this time. Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi will represent the Congress party at the meeting.

Pawan Khera stated that they want the Prime Minister to be present to send a message that all political parties stand united on national security. He added that while India targets terrorist bases, Pakistan targets innocent civilians and religious sites – highlighting the difference in approach between the two nations.

Congress Expresses Confidence in the Army

A day before the meeting, the Congress Working Committee (CWC) met, where party president Kharge and Rahul Gandhi saluted the bravery of the army. They clearly stated that there is no disagreement on this issue and that the Congress stands firmly with the government and national security.
