India-Pakistan Border Tensions: Central Government Directs Crisis Management Preparedness

Amidst rising India-Pakistan border tensions, the central government has instructed all ministries to prepare for crisis management. Close monitoring is underway regarding agriculture, employment, food supply, and electricity distribution.

India-Pak Tensions: Following heightened border tensions between India and Pakistan, the central government has issued a high alert. After a high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi with secretaries, all major ministries are on alert. The government has directed all ministries to finalize their crisis management preparedness plans.

Ministry of Agriculture Develops Strategy for Farmers

Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, in a crucial meeting with officials, emphasized ensuring that farmers in border states face no difficulties with sowing. If evacuations become necessary in any area, discussions will be held with the Chief Ministers of states like Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab.

The minister assured that if there are any delays in farming due to the situation, the government will prioritize assistance. The meeting finalized the Kharif season outline and reported a bumper wheat production of 2.67 crore tonnes in the country.

Focus on Employment and Relief Measures

The government plans to provide employment to displaced people in affected districts under MGNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act). Shivraj Singh Chouhan has instructed the Ministry of Rural Development to provide immediate temporary employment to such individuals.

Caution Against Rumors Regarding Food and Essential Commodities

Minister of Consumer Affairs, Piyush Goyal, in a video message on social media, urged people to disregard rumors about food shortages. He stated that the country has sufficient food grain reserves. The ministry has also warned traders against hoarding food and essential commodities.

Vigilance Regarding Electricity and Cybersecurity

The Ministry of Power stated that electricity supply in border states is being closely monitored. All measures are in place to maintain grid resilience in any emergency. Furthermore, vigilance is being maintained against cyberattacks targeting the national grid.

Instructions to Ensure Worker Safety

The Ministry of Labour has instructed all states to ensure the safety and employment of workers under the Factories Act. Special monitoring is underway to prevent workers from facing any hardship under any circumstances.
