Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar admitted in parliament to removing The Resistance Front (TRF) from a UNSC resolution condemning the Pulwama terror attack. TRF is a terrorist organization linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba.
Pakistan: Pakistan has once again exposed its duplicity and soft stance on terrorism. Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar openly admitted in parliament to removing The Resistance Front (TRF) from a United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolution that condemned the Pulwama terror attack. TRF, a terrorist organization, is linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba, which has carried out terrorist activities in Kashmir.
Why was TRF removed from the UNSC resolution?
Dar himself stated in parliament that the UNSC had issued a resolution condemning the Pulwama terror attack, holding TRF responsible. Pakistan refused to sign the resolution, making the removal of TRF's name a condition for its approval.
According to Dar, he instructed his permanent representative not to sign the resolution unless the phrase "Jammu and Kashmir" was added and TRF's name removed.
Who is TRF and why is it dangerous?
TRF, or The Resistance Front, is essentially a new front for Lashkar-e-Taiba. This organization attempts to portray itself as "local," while its funding, weapons, and training originate directly from Pakistan. In the Pulwama attack, the organization utilized its specialized Falcon Squad module, known for its highly dangerous and precise attacks.
Pakistan's shameful justifications
Defending TRF, Dar claimed that there was "no concrete evidence" of TRF's involvement in the attack. He even went so far as to say that TRF did not claim responsibility for the attack, despite the fact that TRF itself had claimed responsibility. This clearly demonstrates that Pakistan will go to any lengths to give a clean chit to terrorists.
What is India's response?
India has bly criticized Pakistan's stance. The government and experts believe that this open support not only encourages terrorism but also disregards international laws and forums like the UNSC. India continues to demand b action against organizations like TRF and Lashkar-e-Taiba.
