UP PCS Main Exam 2025 Dates Announced: Exam to be held from June 29th to July 2nd. 15,066 candidates will appear for the main examination. Admit cards will be released soon on the UPPSC website. Recruitment for 947 posts. Begin your preparations.

UP PCS Main Exam: The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has officially announced the dates for the UP PCS Main Examination 2025. Candidates who successfully cleared the preliminary examination (Prelims) can now intensify their preparations. This year, the UP PCS Main Exam will be held from June 29th to July 2nd. The examination will be conducted in two shifts at examination centers in Prayagraj and Lucknow.

When will the UP PCS Main Examination be held?

According to the UPPSC, the main examination will be held from June 29th, 2025, to July 2nd, 2025. The examination will be completed in four days.

Day 1 (June 29th):

  • 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM – General Hindi Paper
  • 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM – Essay Writing

Day 2 (June 30th):

  • 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM – General Studies Paper 1
  • 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM – General Studies Paper 2

Day 3 (July 1st):

  • 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM – General Studies Paper 3
  • 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM – General Studies Paper 4

Day 4 (July 2nd):

  • 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM – General Studies Paper 5
  • 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM – General Studies Paper 6

Examination Pattern and Paper Information

The UPPSC PCS Main Examination is of 1500 marks. It includes various papers:

General Hindi and Essay Writing:

  • Each paper carries 150 marks

Six General Studies Papers:

  • Each paper carries 200 marks

Importantly, Papers 5 and 6 will be related to the Uttar Pradesh state specifically.

This means candidates must pay special attention to the state's political, social, economic, and cultural aspects.

How many candidates will participate?

Approximately 15,066 candidates will appear for the main examination this year. The UPPSC will recruit a total of 947 posts through this examination. Therefore, the competition will be intense, and candidates must prepare thoroughly.

When and how will the admit card be obtained?

The UPPSC will soon release the admit cards on its official website. Candidates can download their admit cards by visiting uppsc.up.nic.in and entering their registration number and date of birth.

Important Note: Carrying a valid photo ID card to the examination center is mandatory. Entry will be denied without a valid ID.

What to keep in mind during the examination?

  • Verify your admit card and identity card before the examination begins.
  • Arrive at the examination center on time.
  • Do not bring mobile phones, electronic gadgets, or other prohibited items.
  • Strictly adhere to the examination rules.

Preparation Tips

  • Focus especially on UP-specific topics, particularly governance, history, economy, and social issues.
  • Practice all General Studies papers regularly.
  • Prepare for essay writing and General Hindi as these papers are on the first day.
  • Practice using previous years' question papers and model test series.
