Noida: A fire incident at the physiotherapy center of Metro Hospital, located in Sector-11, Noida, around 8 am on Wednesday, caused alarm among hospital administration and the surrounding area. The fire originated in a unit located in the hospital's basement. Three fire engines were immediately dispatched to the scene and successfully extinguished the fire.
Smoke Extraction System Played a Crucial Role
Although there was a risk of smoke spreading throughout the hospital after the fire, the fire brigade and hospital administration swiftly deployed the smoke extraction system. This effectively prevented smoke from reaching the main hospital building. This technical intervention ensured that no patient needed to be relocated.
No Casualties, Patients Completely Safe
All patients and staff present in the hospital during the incident remained safe. Gautam Buddh Nagar's Chief Fire Officer (CFO), Pradeep Kumar, confirmed that there were no casualties. This information was reassuring, as initial reports of the fire had caused considerable concern.

Preliminary investigations suggest a short circuit may have caused the fire. Since the fire was contained within the separate physiotherapy unit, its impact remained limited. The fire brigade's prompt response and the hospital staff's preparedness effectively controlled the situation.

Upon receiving the information, a police team from Sector-24 police station and the fire service unit immediately arrived at the scene. Approximately three units collaborated to fully contain the fire and prevent its spread. Hospital staff also assisted the fire team during this time.
