The Kho Kho Federation of India (KKFI) made a historic announcement on June 13th, stating that the third season of the Ultimate Kho Kho (UKK) league will, for the first time, include international players. This season is set to commence on November 29th.
KKFI 2025: The popularity of Kho Kho, India's traditional sport, is no longer confined to national borders. A significant step towards global recognition was taken when the KKFI announced that foreign players will participate in the upcoming third season of Ultimate Kho Kho (UKK). The Third Season's Spectacular Launch on November 29th
During a press conference held on June 13th, 2025, KKFI President Sudhanshu Mittal announced this major decision. He stated that the third season will begin on November 29th, 2025, and international players will be included in teams through an auction process. This move will not only provide the league with international recognition but also solidify India's position as a global hub for Kho Kho.
Kho Kho was long considered a rural sport, but with the launch of the Ultimate Kho Kho league in 2022, it transitioned into a professional framework. Within its first two seasons, the league gained immense popularity among Indian viewers, becoming the third most-watched sports league in the country after the Pro Kabaddi League and the Indian Super League.
The first season attracted 64 million viewers, with 41 million from India. This is a remarkable achievement for a traditional Indian sport.
